Founded in 1896, CVMA’s mission is to help those in the veterinary field continue learning, network with other professionals in the industry, and provide information to the public to promote animal health. The nonprofit organization consists of over 5,000 veterinarians and their support staff. CVMA provides members access to continuing education seminars; the CVMA Bulletin, published to help members keep up with veterinary changes, upcoming events, meetings, and special announcements; and special CVMA “member days,” where members (and sometimes their pets) can participate in leisure activities together.
CVMA membership also includes a wide range of discounts. Members can receive discounted AAA membership, home, and car insurance. Loyola University provides CVMA members and staff discounted tuition for open enrollment classes. Sittercity.com, an online child and pet care website, offers members discounted annual membership plans. For more information on CMVA and the benefits available to members, visit chicagovma.org.
